Job Description: 


Follow the day-to-day operations set by the Senior Accountant – General Ledger in the Finance division to ensure continuity of work and the delivery of effective and high quality outputs.
Report on a regular basis to the Senior Accountant – General Ledger on the operational activities, challenges and issues faced, mitigations taken, etc. as required, to keep them informed and updated on the activities performed.


Provide support to the Senior Accountant – General Ledger in preparing and publishing schedule for month end and year end closing activities so that all concerned stakeholders are aware of closing activities deadlines.


Coordinate, follow-up and control closing activities performed by other Accountants and review the journals entries to ensure timeliness, consistency and accuracy of the entries and documentation in adherence with the established policies and to ensure compliance with the set schedule.
Conduct monthly reconciliation of general ledger accounts and identify errors and reason for errors, adjust entries accordingly, and report discrepancies to Senior Accountant – General Ledger in order to ensure the maintenance of accurate records for all EAD accounts.


Collate and analyses general ledger accounts data and any other required information in order to support in the preparation and reporting of periodical financial statements for EAD sectors/ divisions in line with local regulations and adopted accounting standards.
Contribute to all monthly and adhoc reporting activities pertaining to general ledger transactions to ensure that the concerned internal or external stakeholders are provided with all information required in an accurate and timely manner.


Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders on matters related to the General Ledger in order to facilitate flow of information.
Follow all relevant section policies, processes, procedures and instructions so that work is carried out in a controlled and consistent manner.


Support the creation of change management culture through taking a ‘hands-on’ and ‘can-do’ approach to EAD’s new business changes, participating rapidly to the development of new initiatives, meeting planned targets, and demonstrating preferred high performance behaviors.


Comply with all relevant EHS guidelines, policies and procedures, report incidents and hazards in a timely manner, and reduce consumption of natural resources to support in protecting the environment and ensure a healthy and safe work environment.


Perform additional duties commensurate with the current role, as and when requested by the Senior Accountant – General Ledger.
