Job Title:English Instructor

Job Purpose & Scope
Develops, conducts, evaluates English Language courses and monitors their implementation to enhance the level of proficiency of English Language within the company. Conducts periodic Training needs analysis exercise within the company and identifies the future training requirements for developees. Prepares the annual English Language training plan/ budget for the English language Unit.

Principal Accountabilities
a) Coordinates with departments concerned and arranges Testing new recruits’ English Language proficiency using TOEIC, assessing their linguistic competence and arrange suitable English Language courses in order to meet the integration point required for each position.
b) Conducts periodic English Language needs analysis through meeting Team Leaders and line managers concerned to discuss developees’ English language requirements/ progress, identifies the linguistic needs of the job concerned and arrange the required courses to enhance optimum performance.
c) Develops English Language training courses, objectives, audit/evaluate all English language courses and monitors their implementation to ensure that curriculum objectives are properly met.
d) Identify, recommend and arrange long-term English Language courses in ADNOC/ELTC or British Council for employees whose language proficiency are below the required entry point.
e) Liaises with team leaders and respective departments managers regarding progress and further requirements of employees and arrange courses accordingly.
f) Designs / develops and writes Memo/Business/technical Report Writing courses using available authentic materials collected from different departments and conduct the training courses using varied methods and techniques.
g) Counsels and guides developees, and report on their progress, punctuality, behavior and attitude.
h) Defines the scope of English for Specific Purposes (ESP) training based on the analysis of the individual/group assessment and the linguistic needs of the job concerned to enhance optimum performance, prepare job-oriented syllabi involving a variety of specific exercises for each individual or group, teach and test oral, written and comprehension ability and provide a detailed analysis of training results and report findings.
i) Discusses with the concerned site the English Language requirements and progress of offshore developees and accordingly arrange suitable English Language training courses.
Meets with immediate superiors of developees and discusses the jobs English Language 

skill levels required for their jobs.
a) Gives administrative and technical advice to employees on issues related to English Language.
b) Maintains and regularly updates the ELTU database of all developees in order to keep a record of proficiency levels and training delivered.
c) Provides and updates English Language materials and software for ELTU Self Access Learning Center.
d) Monitors, assesses and seeks to improve the quality of English Language training by keeping abreast of modern trends and current literature on best practices in teaching English Language.
e) Prepares the annual budget for the English Language Training Unit.
Performs duties in a safe, professional and efficient manner, complying with HSE Requirements related to all job activities. Familiarize & maintain proper and continuous knowledge of Company’s HSE procedures, rules and regulations & abide by them at all times

Qualification & Experience
a) B.A. in English language + Teaching Diploma in English for specific purposes.
b) 5 years experience in teaching English language and lecturing either at a school or a training center.
c) Good knowledge of computer.
d) Fluent in written and spoken English.
